26hr ALF Core Training (English)
This course is an online 26 hour ALF Core Training course. ALF Administrators and managers are licensed by the Department of Elder Affairs for the State of Florida Department. To become an Assisted Living Facility Administrator or Manager you must complete this required 26 hour ALF CORE Training course and successfully pass the state CORE Competency Exam according to Chapter 59a-36, Florida Administrative Code. The exam is administered by the University of South Florida (USF) and is 100 questions long which requires a passing grade of at least 75%.

What exactly is ALF Core Training?
ALF Core training is a course for anyone who wants to become an administrator in any ALF in Florida. The ALF Core Training courses are required to be completed before you take the state competency exam to qualify for the assisted living administrator certificate.
The course is also required for ALF “manager” and Extended Congregate Core Supervisors. Department managers and other staff who are working in an assisted living facility also have one or two things to gain from taking the ALF core training through the process of learning the different regulatory requirements needed to operate an ALF.
How do I become an assisted living manager?
In order to become a certified assisted living manager, an individual must complete 26 hours ALF Core Training course and successfully pass the state CORE Competency Exam according to the Florida Administrative Code 59A-36.011. ALF Administrators and managers are licensed by the Department of Elder Affairs for the State of Florida Department.
Who administers ALF core training exam?

Either you take the ALF Core Training online or in person, it doesn’t matter; it all depends on your learning style. We teach the same content, whether you take the course online or in person.
If I take the Assisted Living Core training and pass the state competency exam, can I get a job as an ALF administrator or executive director?
Yes and No. It completely depends on you. In addition to the ALF Core training, employers will likely be looking for additional credentials or experience which are specific to their organization’s needs and specifications.
